Cross-stitch Christmas 2015
As most good crafts start, I was scrolling though Pinterest and came across a pin titled "20 Handmade Christmas Gifts to Sew Now". One of the suggestions was a cross-stitch family portrait. I fell in love with the idea of making my family members mini portraits for Christmas. I had about 7 weeks until Christmas so I had to get to work quick. After some google searches I found a link to the Stitch People website. It was the perfect tool to make these portraits.
I had never cross stitched before starting these so i was getting pretty excited. I spent about a week doing all the prep work for each portrait (which was basically just Facebook stalking my family and picking out which outfit I was going to replicate). I even planned some portraits out during a plane ride to Austin.
Once I got started, I couldn’t stop. As soon as I got home from work I would put on Christmas pajamas (to get in the spirit of course) and get back to cross-stitching. With little time to spare I finished the final portrait and got them all wrapped up and ready for Christmas. They were a hit and were so much fun to make.
